About Us

Over a Century of Service To The Lord and God's People

Brick Presbyterian Church is blessed with a friendly and caring staff that loves the Lord, and is eager to serve the needs of God's people.

Our congregation is firmly rooted in our community, ministering to the needs of people since 1900. Yet we are continually seeking to discern the new things that God is calling us to be and do as we move forward into the future. Thus, we value the tried and proven traditions of the past, as we seek to find appropriate ways to meet the needs of an ever changing world while remaining faithful to the Lord.

We are a diverse people in age, interests and perspectives within the Christian faith. You will find among us young people, families of various descriptions, singles and retirees. Yet we are bound together by the love of God in Jesus Christ and a care for one another and the larger community.

From Our Pastor:

“It is difficult to express our faith better than our spiritual ancestors did with the Apostle’s Creed.  While others influence our thoughts and beliefs by their love, faith, and teachings – our faith is still our own. Though we may travel on  paths someone else once may have traveled and navigate by the light of stars we did not make seeking God’s Promised Place, our journey is always uniquely our own.

 Here is my statement of faith:

 I believe in One God, Lord of all that was, is and ever shall be;

Who is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow;

Who does new things in creative love and restoring grace;

Who works for good in all things to bring forth life, hope and peace.

I believe in Jesus Christ, a Risen Lord and Savior;

Who came in redeeming love for us;

Whose love overcomes the powers of sin, death and human evil;

Who continues to seek us out, wherever we may be inviting us to live in the light of His Way.

I believe in the Holy Spirit

Who can energize the weary, guide the strong, and direct the seeking;

Who uses the young and old, the afflicted and the hopeful;

        Who speaks through Scripture and prayer to comfort, challenge, and inspire us to faithfulness.

I believe in the Church, as a gathering of God’s people claimed by Christ , lead   by the Spirit;  fed by Word and Sacrament, as a people who seek, grow, love,   forgive, cry, laugh, share, care, and reach out to others in undying love.

My faith grew from the love and commitment of my parents, and was nurtured by a wonderful Presbyterian congregation growing up in Bath, New York.  I am a theological moderate in the Reform tradition and biblically contextual. I love the Bible and discovering its relevance in today’s world.  My life is blessed by a loving wife, two adult daughters and a granddaughter.  I enjoy cycling, kayaking, fishing, hunting and working with God’s people. “
