“The office of deacon as set forth in Scripture is one of sympathy, witness, and service after the example of Christ…It is the duty of deacons to minister to those who are in need, to the sick, to the friendless, and to any who may be in distress.” (Taken from the Book of Order 2009/2011)
Our Board of Deacons assists the Pastor in ministry to those in need with particular attention to those who are hospitalized, touched by illness or death, or blessed with a new baby. The Deacons also support our church by preparing and serving the communion elements, helping the needy in our community, providing emergency support, and performing other duties as assigned by the Session and dictated by the Book of Order.
